Embodied Beginnings: A Somatic New Year's Day Movement Ritual with Taylor Chang

  • Arise Yoga SF 2799 California Street San Francisco, CA, 94115 United States (map)

A somatic New Year’s ceremony …

that moves from inward reflection to outward witnessing to embodied expression through journaling, community connection, and silent disco yoga and guided dance journey.

New Year’s Day is a threshold, a moment where what has been meets what is becoming. Instead of entering the year from urgency or habit, this ritual invites you to soften back into yourself and let direction arise from within. Together, we’ll move through this threshold in three chapters:

Inward Reflection: Turn toward yourself through guided journaling to take stock of what has been, what is calling, and what your body wants to be known.

Outward Witnessing: In a clear container with shared intention, the body senses that truth will be uplifted rather than shamed. This safety allows authentic expression to emerge, be affirmed, and be celebrated. Receive the gift of community as you bring your truth into form.

Embodied Expression: Harmonize your inner and outer landscape through intentional movement. This is where written words become embodied truth and intention becomes motion. Our movement ritual will unfold through somatically informed yoga leading into a silent disco dance journey.
